IEW: Homeschool Writing Program for Reluctant Writers

Need a homeschool writing program for your reluctant writer? When kids show signs of being a reluctant writer, we homeschool teachers get nervous. And then this happens.

We end up on the curriculum roller coaster searching for the perfect homeschool writing program for our reluctant writers.

It’s a nightmare fueled by the daily laments of our kids.

I can’t do this. My hand hurts. I hate this! Please don’t make me. No!!

Don’t get me started with all the added pressure that the world throws at us to get our kids on grade-level. Talk about stress!

OK, Friend, I’m here to help by sharing my favorite homeschool writing program for reluctant writers.

Deep breaths. You’re gonna get through this. Let’s take care of business.

The Experts are a Problem

Here’s one of our big problems. The so-called “experts” tell us that our kids are supposed to be:

  • Reading at this age
  • Printing upper and lowercase letters by this age
  • Reading chapter books by (insert age)
  • Writing a sentence, a paragraph, an essay by…

You get the idea.

And if you’re reading this, you’ve likely found yourself overwhelmed by the demands of benchmark standards that have never once considered your unique child. This is where the problem lies.

Benchmark standards that have never once considered your child, their unique wiring, interests, and other learning needs.

Pain is Not Necessary

Here’s the deal.

Learning to write does not have to be painful for kids or homeschool moms.
